Benxi is a famous steel city in China, formerly known as "Benxi Lake". Rich in mineral resources, known as "geological museum", it is famous for producing high-quality coking coal, low-phosphorus iron and special steel. The main attractions are Benxi Lake, Benxi Water Cave and Jiuding Tiesha Mountain, a famous Taoist mountain in Northeast China. Wild vegetables, ginseng, velvet antler and frozen pears are all famous local specialties.
