Where is the food in jiaozi?
In Yexian County, Yantai (now Laizhou), there is a folk saying that "beginning of autumn squatted and ate noodles, and no one had diarrhea for half a year". Accordingly, jiaozi soup is called Zhuan Tang. Sometimes, people don't serve jiaozi, but make noodle soup, also called Guzha soup.

Jiaozi has a history of nearly 2000 years. You must not know that the man who invented jiaozi was Zhang Zhongjing, a famous "medical saint" in the Eastern Han Dynasty in China history! When Zhang Zhongjing wrapped jiaozi with herbs and meat stuffing, he cured the frostbite of Nanyang people. Since then, jiaozi has become an indispensable part of China people!
Jiaozi has different names in different historical periods. It was called "Crescent Moon Wonton" in the Three Kingdoms period and "Wonton" in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. It was called "Crescent Wonton" in Tang Dynasty, "jiaozi" in Song Dynasty and "Bian Shi" in Ming Dynasty. It was not until after the Qing Dynasty that it was called "jiaozi"!
