What are the customs of Mongolians?
When it comes to Mongols, many people will not only think of roasting whole sheep, but also have a soft spot for Ma Touqin's melodious piano music. It is an acknowledged fact that Mongolians can sing and dance well. In the long historical development, Mongolian people have created extremely rich and valuable grassland music with their industrious and brave life attitude and great wisdom with unique grassland characteristics.
Every time the Ma Touqin rings, it will cheer the Mongols, and other ethnic groups will hear the Mongolian people's complex feelings of joy or sadness from the piano sound of Ma Touqin. In Mongolia, everyone, regardless of gender or age, can dance and sing. As the most unique artistic custom of Mongolians, it also provides a good reference for the development of China's art history.
2. Architectural customs
Nowadays, many people can see yurts when they travel to Inner Mongolia. In Historical Records and Hanshu, Mongolian yurts were recorded respectively. In ancient history, Mongolian yurts were also called "felt tents" or "vaults". There is a poem "The sky is like the sky" in the folk song Chilechuan of the Northern Dynasty.
However, according to Mongolian historical records, yurts can also be called "Wolugetaige", and according to Chinese translation, it can be known that they are houses without windows. This kind of house has the characteristics of convenient installation and disassembly, and generally consists of felt, wooden fence railings and so on.
According to historical records, this kind of house with special Mongolian style appeared as early as around 2000, and it was first popular among tribes such as Sudden Drop and East Lake. Mongolian tribes also continued this housing feature. As a house with warm winter and cool summer, it has the function of wind and sand prevention, and it is still popular in Mongolia until now.
3. The custom of sacrificing fire
For nomadic people in ancient society, the importance of "fire" in their lives is self-evident. Especially for Mongolian herders and hunters, they have more respect for "fire". The reason why Mongols worship "fire" is actually related to ancestor worship.
Under normal circumstances, the custom of "offering sacrifices to fire" is divided into two kinds: annual sacrifice and monthly sacrifice. On the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month, that is, the off-year of the Han nationality, the Mongols will hold a ceremony of "offering sacrifices and burning fire" under the auspices of their elders. Simply put, it is beef and mutton, wine and so on. Be thrown into the fire. They think that this can be blessed by Vulcan, and it can also make people and animals flourish and harvest crops.
The "Moon Festival" is held on the first and second day of each month, and the sacrificial ceremony is basically the same as the annual festival. In fact, there are many taboos about fire in Mongolian inhabited areas. Don't throw water or people's sundries into the fire, and don't move with a knife or stick. The author thinks this custom is a primitive nature worship.
4. Mongolian marriage customs
In ancient society, the Mongolian people did not form a wedding system, so their marriage mode was basically "grabbing marriage". However, with the continuous progress of the times and the formation of etiquette, Mongolians abandoned the most primitive custom of "robbing marriage". Instead, they borrowed the marriage customs and rituals of the Han nationality and began to implement "engagement marriage".
"Engagement marriage" is actually similar to the marriage system of "three books and six rituals" mentioned by the Han people. After13rd century, "engagement marriage" became popular among Mongolians. In fact, this has a lot to do with the social system and development, because Mongolians have been a slave society until the13rd century.
However, after Genghis Khan established Great Mongolia in the 0/3 century, Mongols began to transition from slavery to feudalism. As we all know, although the feudal system has its fixed defects, it is still relatively perfect in terms of marriage customs. Therefore, when Mongols began to practice the custom of "engagement", it actually marked a big step towards civilized society.
5. Mongolian dress customs
I believe that many people who have been to the Mongolian prairie have seen Mongolians wearing traditional Mongolian costumes. As an ancient nation with its own written and oral language, Mongolian costume culture has sprouted since its formation and gradually developed in a more cultural direction.
However, according to historians, the origin of Mongolian costume culture can be traced back to the Neolithic Age. However, the author believes that once clothing and culture are integrated, it means that they already have cultural characteristics. Obviously, Mongolian costume culture should be gradually formed and shaped during the East Lake period.
The main feature of Mongolian costumes is long sleeves, and the robes of both men and women are particularly hypertrophy. But as far as color is concerned, red, yellow and dark blue are the main colors, which shows that Mongolians have mastered the technology of dyeing cloth for a long time. Or after learning from Han craftsmen, they formed a unique custom of Mongolian cloth dyeing technology.
Under normal circumstances, men and women in Mongolian robes can't hem, and a red and green ribbon is tied around their waist when wearing robes. The main purpose of this is to fix the fat waist, which is more conducive to daily life after wearing a robe.
