The advantages and disadvantages of compiled language and interpreted language and their representatives.
Advantages of compiling languages
Compiling languages need a separate compiling process to convert programs into machine language. Once completed, the subsequent execution does not need translation, which is more efficient.
Disadvantages of explanatory language
Interpretative languages translate at runtime, which may be a little slower than compiled languages.
Representative of compiled language
C/C++ and so on are compiled languages. After compiling the link, an independent executable exe file can be formed.
The representative of explanatory language
Java, C# and so on are all interpreted languages. It is worth noting that although Java also has a compilation process, it is not directly compiled into machine language. But compiled into bytecode, an intermediate language. At runtime, it is retranslated into machine language by JVM.
Characteristics of scripting languages
Scripting languages are usually interpreted and executed by the corresponding scripting engines, which requires an interpreter to run. JavaScript, ASP, PHP, Perl and Nuva are all representatives of scripting languages.
