How to practice Taijiquan ---- from Martial Arts

Stage 1

1. Light. Boxing theory says: "A move, all around the body should be light." Although it is not easy for beginners to do light, but gradually from the word light to start, day after day, deep, natural water to the end. Practicing light movements lays the foundation for future practice. One can reduce attention on the lightness of the action; the second is not to shake and half the effort when practicing composure; the third is to rely on lightness as a foundation for practicing the work of relaxation and tranquility to be practiced.

2. Slow. The movements of Taijiquan should be slower than those of other martial arts, especially at the beginning of the learning stage, and it is necessary to deliberately seek slowness. In this way of practicing, one can avoid hasty movements which may affect the correct posture; the other is to develop the habit of practicing slowly at the beginning, and then the more you practice, the more flexible you become, and you can still maintain a certain slow speed in your movements.

3. Round. In Taijiquan, every movement is a circular arc. In the route, even a very small movement, should maintain the inherent arc. In practicing, in the transition between movement and static, and in returning to each other's circles, all the movements are stepped up in a circular arc.

4. uniform. When practicing boxing, regardless of speed, should maintain a corresponding constant speed to complete the entire action process. The method is, each shot, the action process should be regarded as a myriad of "points" connected, do not only regard it as only the start and end of the two points. This will make the movement invisibly have the meaning of luck according to the "points". After practicing for a long time, the movement will naturally not lose its uniformity at any speed, and will avoid the problem of floating and slipping.

The second stage

1. flexible. The requirements of the previous stage is correct and proportional, the requirements of this stage is light and round. Flexibility should be sought from the image of the action, beginners should pay attention to the following three points:

1) If the original frame practice enough to carry out, this time it should be appropriate to close some of the smaller, so that it matches the compact requirements.

②Speed is no longer necessary to deliberately slow, should make the hand movement more free, or slightly faster.

3 boxing, do not just move the limbs, do not move the waist. It must be known that the waist is the master of the whole body, only the waist is easy and flexible, in order to control the whole body.

2. Loose and quiet. That is, the whole body is relaxed and unattached to the meaning. As long as the spirit is not tense, naturally the muscles can be relaxed. The method of practice is: first of all, emotional "pure let nature"; secondly, not only to relax the shoulders and waist, the whole body should be relaxed everywhere, so that they cooperate with each other.

3. Complete. That is to say, the image of the action should be complete and one." There are feet and legs and waist always need to complete a gas", "there is no immobility, there is no static". Shape and consciousness as far as possible to achieve coordination, hands and feet with the same start and stop, each other.

4. coherent. The meaning of continuity. With the round action, the so-called ring after ring. But the speed required to be controlled, otherwise it will be too round, and flow in the floating.
