Xunwu County, Jiangxi Province is located in a remote mountainous area, but it is rich in historical and cultural resources. The ancient traditional folk medicine, tiaoji, has been passed down here to this day. This medical skill has been introduced to the surrounding areas of Jiangxi, Guangdong and Fujian.

During Xianfeng and Guangxu years of Qing Dynasty, Chen Tao grandfathers Chen Faxiang and Chen Shankun, who inherited "tiaoji", used their ancestral medical skills to engage in the "tiaoji" industry, which made them famous locally. Influenced by it since childhood, Chen Tao inherited his ancestral business and studied the skill of "picking products" for more than 30 years in his spare time, and passed this skill on to Chen Yuhua, Lai Caifeng and others.
