What is the specialty of Xiangxiang?
First, Xiangxiang bakes a cake.
Xiangxiang sesame seed cake is the traditional name of Xiangxiang, Hunan. It is ivory, delicious, pure and refreshing, and rich in nutrition. Because it does not contain oil and salt, and it is directly roasted with fire, it is hygienic and sterile and easy to store. It can be used not only as dry food for travel, but also as baby milk substitute.
Xiangxiang sesame seed cake has been successfully developed by Tianyuan Zhaitang, the county seat, since the first year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1723), and has a history of more than 200 years. During the Xianfeng period, when Zeng Guofan led the Xiang army to suppress the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, he used scones as rations for soldiers. After the war, it was presented to the emperor and court ministers for tasting, which was highly praised and awarded as a tribute.

Distiller's grains fish is the local characteristic of Xiangxiang food culture. This is a tradition for dozens of miles nearby, but it is rare in other places. For example, in Xiangxi, there is no essential seasoning for distiller's grains fish-Pogostemon. Pogostemon cabbages boiled fish is much more delicious than common perilla. Farmers in Xiangxiang usually plant several plants next to vegetables and soil for a rainy day. ?
Distiller's grains fish has been circulating in Xiangxiang for a long time, and it was also popular during the Xianfeng period of Qing Dynasty. So far, there is a saying that "left braised eel, Zeng Guofan's distiller's grains fish". This is of course about their favorite dishes. Because Zeng Guofan's former residence is only 20 miles away from the path of Yutang Town, distiller's grains fish is also a local hometown dish.
Third, fragrant beer
Xiangxiang Brewery is a large national enterprise with an annual output of 654.38+10,000 tons of beer. According to the records in Xiang Xiang Magazine of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty: "Xiangquan Well, water smells pepper orchids, and wine is extraordinary, which was a tribute in the Southern Qi Dynasty." The beer brewed with this well water is mellow, pure and refreshing, and it is the only beer in Hunan Province that has won the title of "Hunan Famous Wine".
