What is a personality model?
(1) China's traditional ideal personality model.
China's traditional ideal personality was shaped in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. With the change of society, it gradually improved in the whole feudal society and established a set of ideal personality standards unique to the Chinese nation. This ideal personality is designed around the "gentleman", and its core has two aspects: first, Confucianism strongly advocates morality first, benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom as one; Secondly, Confucianism's doctrine of the mean and Taoism's letting nature take its course, together with the complementary structure of Confucianism and Taoism, formed China's traditional rational personality-gentleman.
This traditional personality has its reasonable and scientific ideological connotation, and of course there are things that need to be abandoned. Today, we should carry forward the reasonable side, eliminate the negative side, and shape a brand-new personality that can reflect the great spirit of the Chinese nation, move towards modernization, and stand among the nations of the world.
(2) Western ideal personality standards
The ideal personality in the west is centered around rational soul and free will. The ancient Greeks advocated the supremacy of virtue, and the Renaissance advocated the concept of "all-rounder" to develop human potential. The modern bourgeoisie regarded the so-called "real free man" as its ideal personality.
(3) Marxist personality model
Marxist personality design can not be separated from the beautiful ideal of human social development, so "all-round development of human beings" is regarded as the standard of personality perfection. Specifically, there are two remarkable characteristics: man is the product of history, and personal development is determined by social and historical conditions; Only in the dynamic practice of changing society can people constantly improve and develop themselves, and social practice plays a decisive role in shaping ideal personality.
The enlightenment of Marxist personality model is:
① The construction of ideal personality is determined not only by some natural attributes, but also by abstract human nature, which is rooted in history and social reality. The establishment and perfection of personality should meet the requirements of the times;
The realization of ideal personality should be realized through practice, not just "introspection" and the pursuit of individual freedom and perfect development, but the unity of theory and practice.
To sum up, Marxism advocates that all-round development of personality design should be the unity of ideal and reality, and the unity of theory and practice.
