Characteristics of Type 48 Tai Ji Chuan

The 48-style Tai Ji Chuan is an Artest Tai Ji Chuan routine compiled by the former State Sports Commission and Wushu Research Institute on 1979. The whole routine consists of 48 movements, divided into six segments, except the clearance. Its technical style is based on Yang Tai and Tai Ji Chuan, combined with the characteristics and training methods of other Tai Ji Chuan schools, and it is innovative. It pays attention to the symmetry of action, and the whole set of actions is substantial and rigorous in structure. It takes about 8 points to practice once.

Forty-eight-style Tai Ji Chuan is the continuation and improvement of the simplified Tai Ji Chuan routine, with Yang-style Tai Ji Chuan as the main style and Wu-style and Sun-style Tai Ji Chuan as the auxiliary. Its routine arrangement follows the principle of easy before difficult, and has the action characteristics of neat and coherent, natural connection, soft outside and rigid inside, and combining rigidity with softness.
