What we call "folk art" or what we study "folk art" is a relatively broad concept. In the past, folk art in a narrow sense can be understood as "folk art", "folk crafts", "folk skills" and "folk crafts". Its content mainly refers to the plastic arts with aesthetic significance, and of course it also includes the part of traditional folk arts and crafts, that is, the art form combining practical function with aesthetic function, such as clothing and furniture. But in any case, the narrow sense of "folk art", or we directly use the concept of "folk art", is to say "folk art" from the perspective of aesthetic modeling. The concept of "folk art" we are using now is to talk about "folk art" from the perspective of sociology, so that it is closer to life itself, rather than the so-called "art form". We try to think about art from the perspective of life and human ontology. The fundamental difference between the two viewpoints also determines the connotation and extension of the two concepts of "folk art". Therefore, our current research scope has involved areas that are not regarded as "art" by people, such as houses, farm tools, transportation tools, handicraft tools and so on. This is the "folk art" we study. But in a broader sense, folk art includes plastic arts, performing arts, rap arts and literature arts, which comprehensively embodies the connotation of China's traditional culture, artistic concepts, ways of thinking and values. "Folk art" should be a broad "folk art" containing various art forms, and its connotation should be more profound.

Folk art contains various aesthetic laws from ancient times to the present, and we silently pursue its progress and perfection in the inheritance.
