What types of experimental equipment are there for membrane separation?

Membrane separation experimental equipment mainly includes the following types:

1, tubular device. The equipment similar to shell-and-tube heat exchanger is composed of tubular membrane and porous tube, which is divided into internal pressure type and external pressure type, and each is supported by porous tube on the outside or inside of the membrane. The surface of internal pressure membrane is easy to clean and suitable for microfiltration and ultrafiltration.

2. Plate and frame device. Baffles are alternately inserted between the sheet-like membrane groups with the same size to form the flow channels of two kinds of liquid flows. This structure is suitable for electrodialysis, because the membrane group can be placed in a uniform electric field. The plate-frame device can also be applied to ultrafiltration and dialysis with small hydrostatic pressure difference between the two sides of the membrane.

3. Hollow fiber device. Hollow fiber can withstand high pressure difference without support, and its membrane area per unit equipment volume is large in various membrane separation equipment. Hollow fibers are used to form equipment similar to shell-and-tube heat exchangers. The diameter of hollow fibers is about 0, 1~ 1mm, and there are millions of them side by side. The ends of the fibers are sealed with epoxy resin to form a tubesheet, which is encapsulated in a pressure vessel. Hollow fiber type is suitable for reverse osmosis and gas permeation separation.
