Inheriting Red Culture and Carrying Forward the Spirit of Volunteer Service

South China: Lin Qiusheng reports

Red cultural sites are "witnesses" of history. On the afternoon of June 22nd, 2022, seven volunteers from Guangdong Zhongshandongwang Volunteer Class spontaneously went to the former residence of Yang Zijiang, the red cultural site of Shenmingting in shaxi town, Zhongshan City to carry out volunteer service activities.

? In the hot summer of June, the volunteers immediately contacted Mr. Yang, the former residence administrator, to open the door. Yang Zijiang's former residence was the former headquarters of the Second Squadron in Zhongshan Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Area in the late Qing Dynasty, and the Yang Gong Temple in Cuifeng was transformed into the Shen Mingting Revolutionary History Museum. A cultural heritage with local history education is completely preserved under the protection of the village Committee. Volunteers took the broom, mop bucket, rag and other cleaning tools sent by Teacher Yang, and got busy from outdoor to indoor and from top to bottom with a clear division of labor. Sweep, wipe, drag and sweat. After more than three hours of hard work, this former residence with the style of leading the south was finally cleaned and tidy, which was highly praised by Teacher Yang.

? Volunteers adhere to the volunteer spirit of dedication, mutual assistance, friendship and progress, inherit the essence of traditional culture, and make the red context endless and have a long history.
