What is exercise therapy? What is joint mobilization?

Exercise therapy, also known as therapeutic exercise (medical exercise), is a therapeutic method to improve the local or overall function of human body, improve physical and psychological quality and meet the needs of daily life with the help of therapeutic equipment and/or the manipulation of therapists and the participation of patients themselves. It can be divided into active movement (voluntary movement, power-assisted movement, resistance movement) and passive movement. Active exercise can also be divided into isometric exercise, isotonic exercise, isokinetic exercise, relaxation exercise, strength exercise, endurance exercise, unarmed exercise and instrumental exercise.

Joint movement refers to a highly targeted manipulation technique carried out by therapists within the scope of joint activities, and joint physiological movement and accessory movement are often selected as treatment means. It is quite different from the traditional massage or massage technique in China in theoretical system, operation method and clinical application. Articulation can be divided into four grades, grade I and grade II are used to treat joint movement limitation caused by pain; Grade III is used to treat joint pain with stiffness; Grade Ⅳ is used to treat the limitation of joint movement caused by adhesion and contracture of surrounding tissues.
