Traditional Crafts--Chaoshan Crochet

I remember when I was a child, there was an aunt next door to the old Alley, she was very good at crocheting a lot of handicrafts, like coasters, fruits, flowers and so on, she would hook, a small crochet hook in her hands to turn around and turn out a lot of good-looking handicrafts. I will be looking at it and think it's especially fun and magical, so I'll ask my aunt to teach me, but I can't always learn, my hands are too clumsy, right?

When I was a kid, I lived in the old city, and many middle-aged women or old people would hook flowers, and this craft could support the family, so every day I could see my aunt next door with her children while always hooking flowers, which is also a good memory of my childhood.

But gradually, this traditional craft seems to be less and less people, now living conditions are better, not too many people like before to take crochet to earn a living.

In my opinion, the craft of crocheting should not be allowed to decline. It is one of the traditional cultures of Chaoshan, which should be passed on from generation to generation and carried forward so that it still survives.

After I gave birth to my child last year, I looked for instructional videos on crocheting on the Internet, and learned to crochet, but fortunately, now my hands are not stupid, haha. I hooked the baby's shoes, small bags, coin purse, look at their own hook out of these works is very sense of accomplishment, feel that they can also let the crochet craft shine.

In this new media era, as young people we should make their hometown's traditional culture to promote out, so that more people outside to understand our roots culture, innovation is the theme of the times, but do not forget the charm of traditional culture, if the two can be fused together, I think it will be a kind of vibrant force.
