What's Group Eight?

"Eight groups" refer to truck drivers, couriers, care workers, domestic workers, information workers in shopping malls, online food delivery workers, real estate agents and security guards.

With the rapid development of society, many new jobs, new industries and new employment groups have emerged, such as courier brothers and food delivery staff. They travel through the streets of the city every day and deliver their services to thousands of consumers in time. They have made great efforts and sweat, created value for society and contributed to development.

Trade unions at all levels regard eight group members as the top priority of grassroots work.

In recent years, trade unions at all levels generally regard promoting the membership of truck drivers, couriers and other groups as the top priority of trade union grassroots work, and increase investment in innovation, showing three characteristics:

The first is to improve "cohesion" as a whole. Trade unions at all levels actively strive for the support of the leaders of Party committees and relevant government departments, take the opportunity of deepening the reform and innovation of trade unions, strengthen leadership, carefully plan, and link up and down to promote this work from pilot exploration to comprehensive promotion, and further extend it from provincial level to cities, counties and grassroots units.

The second is the "bold experiment" of innovative measures. This work involves a wide range, has great influence and is difficult. Trade unions at all levels have tried their best to increase innovation, investment and service attraction, and explored and summarized some experiences that can be used for reference and promotion in terms of membership, organization and service guarantee.

The third is to lay a solid foundation and "steadily and steadily". Trade unions at all levels will promote the organic combination of eight groups, including truck drivers and couriers, deepen the special action of establishing trade unions for enterprises with more than 100 employees, persist in shifting the focus of work to the front line, tilt resources to the grassroots level, and continuously expand the coverage of trade union organizations.
