Moonstone produced in China is not worse than that produced abroad, so it is not very expensive. Even the moonstone with really good quality can only be regarded as a mid-range gem (because of its huge output). Moonstone sold in general shopping malls will be more expensive, so it is best to buy it in jewelry wholesale centers such as Xinjiekou and Xiaoying.

Based on a 6mm*8mm torus, the wholesale price in Beijing is 15~30 yuan, while the retail price is slightly higher, about 25~45 yuan. If it is inlaid, the price ranges from 50-300 yuan (depending on the inlaid metal used).

Moonstone surface is a bit like fog glass, delicate and soft, with strong light transmission. Due to the reflection of the internal structure, the albite in the interlayer exudes attractive color light, mysterious and romantic luster, full of moonlight-like aura.

Good quality moonstone is translucent and has blue light like waves. The difference is semi-turbid. The lower level only has a halo and no blue light.

Moonstone will emit pink fluorescence under short-wave ultraviolet irradiation; But there is no or only weak fluorescence under long-wavelength ultraviolet light. There is blue or purple-blue fluorescence under X-ray.

It should be pointed out that there are many gems with moonlight effect in nature, but only feldspar minerals can be called moonstone, and other gems can't use moonstone names even if they have moonlight effect.
