Introduction to Traditional Grammar

Traditional grammar is often used to summarize the methods and concepts of the stage of grammatical research before linguistics became a science. The "tradition" in question is more than 2,000 years old, and includes the writings of ancient Greek and Roman grammarians, Renaissance writers, and 18th-century canonical grammarians.
