History:
The earliest recorded appearance of Spanish poker was in 1378. The earliest and most widespread Spanish card game was "HOMBRE" played with 40 cards, which later gave rise to "EL MEDIADOR", "EL ROCAMBOR", "EL TRESILLO" and other card games.
In these card games, luck and skill are very important, but not much memorization is required. Other Spanish card games include "LA MALILLA", "EL REVESION" and "CIENCOS".
In the 16th century, poker manufacturers began to produce poker cards with notches on the top and bottom edges to make it easier for the player to distinguish between the four suits when playing. No notches represent "coins", one notch is "cups", two notches are "swords", and three notches are "clubs."
By the end of the 18th century, the numbers 1 to 12 began to be printed in the cards.
In the 17th century, some manufacturers began to add some astronomical symbols, such as the sun, the moon, the stars, etc. to the cards as a manufacturer's mark, and later (in the 18th century) added more symbols as a trademark.
