How long does it take for young corn to catch bait?
Take the tender corn that everyone likes to use as an example. I have taken many detours. For example, when I first learned to use tender corn, I always liked to say that I peeled off part of the skin.
This hook will shed a little corn syrup, because I think it is better to lure the fish. But there are still small fish in this hook, not only small miscellaneous fish, but also some small crucian carp and so on.
In this case, the float always rocks up and down. Of course, I don't care. After a while, the float will stabilize. It hasn't been black for a long time, so I naturally have no bottom, so I took a look at the pole and found that the corn on the hook was still there. I don't want to change the bait, keep throwing it down and wait for the black drift. Often, the whole morning passes without any movement, and the bait is changed halfway to keep watch. After a while, nothing happened. In this way, I lost all confidence in corn until I met a group of small snappers in another place. Because I hung two corn, the anchovy is not big and the mouth is small, but the action of eating bait is exaggerated, and there are many actions of big top drift and fast black drift. Even if there was action, it didn't hit the fish. Sometimes corn is gone, but occasionally fish can be caught.
Later, when I thought about it carefully, I thought it was wrong. Why is it that the fish mouth is good at first, but then it doesn't move? Why do I always have fish bites when I meet small bream? Later, I thought the problem was the frequency of bait change, because the tender corn was tender, smooth and juicy, and the juice was easy to attract fish after throwing water. However, the juice will be lost after soaking for a long time, and the effect of attracting fish will of course be greatly reduced. At this time, tender corn juice is like atomized granular bait. The more juice, the better the effect of attracting fish. When there are no big fish, there must be groups of small fish eating bait.
The same is true of old corn, canned corn and fermented corn, even if the corn you use has been soaked in wine for a long time. After the bait enters the water, the taste will become weaker and weaker, and the effect of attracting fish will become worse and worse. Therefore, if you don't bite the hook, you should change the bait every once in a while. So how often is it more reliable to change the bait? According to my experience, it is best not to exceed 20 minutes. Just try it. After 20 minutes, the corn kernels taste much worse than the corn in your jar.
In fact, it is not only corn, but also some other non-atomized bait, such as earthworm. Some fishermen can soak earthworms until they turn white. Why? Because the white-soaked earthworm still has traces of fish bites, but think about it, which do fish prefer to eat, a fresh and juicy earthworm or a dead earthworm? The same is true of other snail meat, shrimp and small fish. Of course, it is another matter that you use untreated old corn. It doesn't matter if you soak in water for half a day, it doesn't taste anything anyway.
