What is the history of Israel?

Israel first refers to the name of an individual, and later evolved into the title of a country. The earliest history can be traced back to BC12nd century or so. In the past 3,000 years, Jews regarded Canaan as the core of their national and spiritual life, and called it "Holy Land" or "Promised Land".

Israel has a special meaning in Judaism, including temple relics and related religious ceremonies, which are the important foundation of modern Jewish tradition.

Israel means "brave warrior" and comes from the Bible. Jacob, the ancestor of the Jews, wrestled with God (angel) and won. God changed Jacob's name to Israel, and twelve tribes were born.
