The history of Taoxiangcun and the origin of its name

Daohuangcun (Suzhou) originated in 1773, 246 years ago, when it was called "Suzhou Daohuangcun Tea Shop". When Emperor Qianlong traveled to the south of the Yangtze River, he tasted the pastries of Taoxiangcun in Suzhou, and praised it as "the best food in the world, and the deliciousness is unavoidable" and inscribed a plaque on it, which made it famous all over the world.

Daohuangcun insists on "craftsmanship" in its products, and traditional handmade skills are passed down from generation to generation through "masters with apprentices". It has been passed down to the sixth generation since its inception.

Daohuangcun (Suzhou) has evolved from a single store in the early days of its founding on Guanqian Street in Suzhou to a large-scale conglomerate with nine modern food production and processing centers across the country, as well as a number of direct raw material supply bases in Shandong, Jiangsu, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia and other places. Suzhou Taoxiangcun exports to more than 30 countries and regions around the world. In 2003 and 2008, Suzhou Taoxiangcun twice authorized Beijing Taoxiangcun to use the Taoxiangcun trademark on its pastries.
