What kinds of blues are there?
Extended data:
Blue is a color, one of the three primary colors of red, green and blue. Among the three primary colors, its wavelength is the shortest, ranging from 440 to 475 nm, which belongs to short wavelength. Blue is a symbol of eternity. There are many kinds of blue, and each blue represents different politics or other meaning. There are also many examples of music, books and stars named in blue.
Because sunlight is Rayleigh scattered by dust in the air, the clear sky is blue. Due to the absorption of light of about 750 nanometers by hydrogen-oxygen bonds in water molecules, a large amount of water is concentrated into blue. Interestingly, heavy water is colorless because deuterium-oxygen bonds absorb light with a relatively long wavelength (about 950 nm).
Blue is highly respected all over the world. In Britain, aristocratic blood is called "blue blood", and the dark blue clothes worn by the royal family and royal women are called "royal blue". In Christianity, blue is the symbol of the Virgin Mary. Blue also symbolizes youth. In China, there is a word called "youth" (blue means blue). It is the color of hope.
Blue has many puzzling extended meanings. What we call "yellow jokes" has become "blue stories" in English. "Blue Beard" refers to a cruel husband who kills his wife (French folk story, in which "Blue Beard" killed six wives in a row).
