New energy is the abbreviation of new energy generation technology, refers to the wind, photovoltaic, photothermal, biomass and other power generation related technologies.

Microgrid belongs to the category of smart grid, which is relative to the traditional power grid.

The traditional power grid refers to a number of decentralized or partially centralized power plants issued by the power, after boosting the power grid, through long-distance transmission to reach the large load areas after multi-stage voltage reduction, and then through the distribution (or power supply) equipment to the user's power equipment.

And microgrid refers to, decentralized (or distributed) in the user's small or micro power generation devices to form a micro-grid directly to the user power supply. A typical microgrid case is a photovoltaic power source on the roof of a building directly supplying power to the building. The main issues that need to be studied are: the storage and conversion of electric energy; the reliability and security of power supply (which is extremely different from that of the big grid); the interconnection technology with the big grid - i.e., it can improve the reliability of power supply without affecting the big grid due to its own faults; ...... and so on.
