Does anyone know what this song is called (in Minnan language)?
Throwing Copper Boy is a Minnan-language nursery rhyme originating from Yilan, Taiwan, along with Jojo Jojo and Northwest Rain, which are also folkloric nursery rhymes in Taiwan.
The most widely circulated version is that of Lu Chuan-sheng[1][2], but there are several different accounts of its origin.
Lyrics
The train goes to Idu, the Amar Idu is lost, alas, the water in Kampong Khong.
Interpretation
The train passes inside the tunnel, and water drips down from the top of the tunnel.
In this song, the words "idu", "唉唷", "阿末", and "仔" are imaginary words; "丢丢仔伊都" is an imaginary word; "丢丢仔伊都" is an imaginary word; "丢丢丢仔伊都" is an imaginary word. The word "丢丢铜" is an onomatopoeia, describing the sound of falling water. "Pound empty" is the tunnel pronunciation of Taiwanese Minnan language, but it is not accurate.
