Meaningful paper-cut patterns

As for the cutting method of group flowers, we used to use pentagonal folding method and hexagonal folding method. In this section, we will learn a new paper-cut flower folding method, that is, the dodecagon folding method, which is twice as big as the hexagon. So we just need to fold the hexagon in half again along the center line, and we can get the dodecagon in half that we want.

In order to see the effect of the paper-cut works with the dodecagonal folding method more intuitively, I share two flower-cutting methods to deepen and consolidate the dodecagonal folding method. One is a group flower paper-cut similar to snowflake, and the other is Ruyi Baohua paper-cut. The detailed steps of the final work effect and paper-cutting are as follows.

1. Take a square piece of colored paper and fold it diagonally into a triangle.

2. Divide the base of the triangle into three parts with an angle of 180 degrees, and the angle of each part is 60 degrees.

3. Fold the right corner along the right dotted line and align it with the left dotted line, as shown below:

4. Similarly, the left corner is folded along the left dotted line and aligned with the right dotted line.

5. Fold the colored paper in the above picture vertically along the center line again, as shown below. This is the hexagonal origami method we used to use.

6. On the basis of hexagonal origami, fold it in half along the center line, which is the dodecagonal folding method, and draw the following pattern. This is a geometric paper-cutting training, including curves, straight lines and diamonds. The picture has a lively rhythm and a strong sense of decoration.

7. Cut along the drawn pattern, as shown below.

8. Spread out the cut colored paper, which is a paper-cut with twelve flowers. You can count it. A work cut in this way must have twelve symmetrical faces.

9. In order to consolidate the practice, you can cut another twelve-corner pattern, which is Ruyi Baohua. The paper folding method is the same as the above steps. On the basis of the hexagon folding method, it is folded in half along the center line again, which becomes the dodecagonal folding method. Draw a pattern of precious flowers on the folded colored paper. The decorative pattern consists of crescent and wishful patterns, as shown below.

10, cut along the painted pattern, and the unfolded works are as follows. This paper-cut pattern looks like a lot of lines, but it is cut directly, and there is no middle cut, so don't be scared by its pattern, just cut it boldly.

This pattern is common in ancient paper-cut paintings, with blooming peony in the middle, symbolizing wealth, and wishful patterns on the periphery. Together, they mean "wealth and happiness".
