Biography of actor Wu Jing

Wu Jing, born on April 3, 1974 in Beijing, graduated from Beijing Sport University. He is a Chinese mainland film and television actor, movie director, and vice chairman of the Chinese Filmmakers Association.

In 1989, he joined the Beijing Wushu Team, and in 1994, he won the champion of the National Wushu Competition Elite Competition in gunfighting and sparring, and in 1995, he made his acting debut in Kung Fu Boys in Love, and in 1998, he became well known to the audience for his role as Yang Yuqian in the costume drama Taiji Grandmaster, and in 1999, he starred in the wuxia drama The Flying Dagger of Little Li.

Acting Experience

In November 2016, he was elected to the Member of the Tenth National Committee of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles; in the same year, he once again directed the military-themed movie "Wolf 2".

On July 27, 2017, the action military movie "Wolf of War II", directed and starred by Wu Jing, was released, in which he played the heroic and bold iron blooded tough guy Leng Feng; the box office of the film exceeded 5.5 billion yuan in 36 days of release, which not only broke the box office record of China's mainland market and the global single-market single-movie box office record, but also became the first Asian film to enter the global TOP 100 box office film list.

On February 15, 2018, he participated in CCTV's Spring Festival Gala and sang the song "China" with Jackie Chan; on March 17, Wu Jing's self-directed and self-starring action-military film "Wolf Warrior II" became the highest-grossing Asian film of 2017 at the 12th Asian Film Awards.

On Nov. 10, 2018, Wu Jing won the Best Actor Award at the 34th Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards for his role as Leng Feng in Wolf War II; on Dec. 8, he won the Outstanding Actor Award at the 17th Chinese Film Huabiao Awards for the action movie Wolf War II; and on Dec. 29, he was elected vice-chairman of the Chinese Filmmakers Association.

On Feb. 5, 2019, he starred in the sci-fi film Wandering Earth; in the same year, he starred in the movie The Climber.
