Drunkenness of the Imperial Lady, also known as Baihua Pavilion, originated from the Peking Opera repertoire of Drunken Yang Fei, a local drama of Huahua in Qianlong period. This play is carefully carved by Mei Lanfang, a master of Peking Opera, and is one of the classic representative plays of Mei School.

The day before, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty made an appointment with Yang Guifei and ordered him to hold a banquet in Baihua Pavilion to enjoy flowers and drink together. The next day, Yang Guifei first went to Baihua Pavilion and prepared a royal banquet for the coachman. It was getting late at that time, and Tang Xuanzong did not arrive. It's too late, too late. However, suddenly someone reported that the emperor had been lucky in Jiang Fei Palace, and Yang Guifei was bored to death when she heard the news. Yang Guifei is naturally narrow-minded, jealous and particularly flattering, and women are most likely to react when they are angry. Therefore, 10,000 kinds of feelings are hard to get rid of for a while, and they get drunk after three glasses of wine. Chun Qing was so excited that he couldn't help laughing. So he got carried away, became bohemian, got drunk frequently with eunuchs Gao Lishi and Peilishi, and made lewd courtship, which was the beginning of his return to the palace.

Features:

Originally, this drama mainly described Yang Yuhuan's mentality of enjoying sex after falling out of favor and being drunk, performing pornography and having a vulgar style. Later, Mei Lanfang removed its dross and preserved its essence. From the aesthetic point of view, starting with the emotional changes of the characters, she corrected her non-artistic tendency. In the play, Yang Yuhuan's drinking changed from covering her sleeves to drinking casually, while Mei Lanfang, with the change of her appearance and movements, showed the psychological change process of the fallen imperial concubine from inner depression and self-restraint to self-control and drunkenness. Heavy dancing is as easy as weightlifting, such as cupping, lying fish, getting drunk and fan dancing. It is very difficult to perform, stretching naturally, with smooth lines and beautiful rhythm.
