What are the seven arts of freedom in western traditional education?
The original intention of the "Seven Arts of Freedom" is the knowledge that a free man should possess and the seven subjects that he should study, which are relative to the professional, vocational and technical courses, namely, the seven humanities subjects of grammar, rhetoric, logic (collectively referred to as the "Three Arts"), arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music (collectively referred to as the "Four Arts"). The liberal arts settings in modern western universities are all influenced by "la liberalaj artoj".
