Many experts believe that radiofrequency ablation can not completely alleviate the lesions, and may miss the diagnosis of thyroid cancer, and there is a risk of recurrence. Therefore, radiofrequency ablation has its indications for benign thyroid nodules.

First of all, it must be pathologically confirmed as a benign nodule.

Second, there is no history of childhood radiotherapy.

Third, the patient is fully informed and requests radiofrequency ablation treatment, or refuses surgery and clinical follow-up.

Fourth, if the autonomic nervous function nodules cause hyperthyroidism symptoms, some patients have obvious symptoms or affect their beauty and need treatment.

Fifth, the postoperative residual recurrent nodules or nodule volume increased significantly.

However, ablation is not recommended for large nodules and complex structures, because the nodules may not be completely cleared and relapse after treatment, so when choosing treatment methods, it should be decided according to specific conditions.
