How did Chinatown come into being?
Chinatown, formerly known as Datang Street, was found in the old edition of Green Water Pavilion Miscellaneous Notes by Nalan Xingde in Qing Dynasty. People began to go in the Tang Dynasty, and residents called it Datang Street, which is now ten miles long. Later, with more and more overseas Chinese, Chinatown appeared in Southeast Asia, America and Europe, such as San Francisco in the United States, Vancouver in Canada, Paris in France, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Singapore.
Early Chinese emigrated overseas, with different languages and customs. In order to adapt to the new environment as soon as possible, they consciously live in one place so that everyone can take care of each other at ordinary times. In the areas where they live, Chinese living quarters and service areas have gradually formed, and a series of industries with China characteristics and customs have emerged. Chinese restaurants, embroidery, antiques, Chinese schools, Hanfu, clubs, theaters, and fellow villagers' associations abound. Every traditional festival in China, China traditional customs such as walking on stilts, painting lanterns, dancing lions, setting off firecrackers and eating moon cakes can be seen everywhere. These streets with ethnic characteristics have attracted more and more local people's patronage, so there is a prosperous scene of Chinatown everywhere today.
