Why new energy vehicles save fuel

New energy vehicles are now mainly lithium-ion, such as BYD's E6, Toyota's Prius (HEV) and so on.

The real EV representative is BYD's E6, which is completely lithium-ion and does not need gasoline and diesel. It is a zero-emission vehicle, but its energy source is still through the charging station, which generates electricity to supply the charging station, so even the electricity used by the EV is likely to be generated by pollution.

It's not accurate to say that new energy vehicles are fuel efficient. If EVs don't need oil at all, there is no such thing as fuel efficiency.

But HEV, but the fuel saving, HEV is mainly used in urban working conditions of the road, HEV in the frequent start-up of the use of automotive lithium-ion system, in the deceleration of the brakes when the energy can be recovered, and some of the wheels of the process of driving to get energy recovery, but in high-speed driving is still the use of oil, because in high speed (90 or so) when driving a very small amount of fuel consumption, in the brakes, start-up fuel consumption is very large, so the HEV quite save gasoline. So HEVs are quite fuel efficient. For example, Toyota's Prius saves about one-third of the fuel of a car with the same power.
