Why should we use traditional culture for family education?

In ancient China, rich experience was accumulated in the long-term family education practice, and many fine traditions were formed, mainly including the following aspects: 1) The fine tradition of integrating family and country. 2) the fine tradition of putting moral education first, 3) paying attention to personality cultivation, 4) persuading and studying hard, and 5) paying attention to early education.

At the same time, it has also formed a unique educational method: 1) the education method of combining leniency with severity. 2) Pay attention to the educational methods that lead by example. 3) Advocate the educational method of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. 4) Adopt a step-by-step education method. 5) Educational methods that focus on environmental shaping.

These fine traditions and educational methods should be handed down from generation to generation. However, in the past century, firstly, due to the corruption and war of the late Qing government, Empress Dowager Cixi abolished classics and morality; during the Republic of China, Minister of Education Cai Yuanpei abolished reading classics in primary and secondary schools and normal universities; and Mr. Hu Shizhi advocated the vernacular movement, especially during the period from the founding of New China to the Cultural Revolution, which brought a devastating blow to traditional culture. Generations have not received systematic family education, and there is a fault in traditional family education.
