The production of woodcut is divided into four stages: drawing, copying, engraving and rubbing. Then use carbon paper or other means to repeatedly print the manuscript on the polished plate (because the final product is opposite to the manuscript after rubbing), and then paint the background color after modification (generally blue ink is enough, so that you can clearly touch the knife when carving), so that you can carve. Generally, wood carvings are carved white first, then gray tone in the middle, and finally black. In the process of carving, we must always have the concept of wholeness, detail and wholeness. According to the content and structure, we should organize the knife shape and knife method, and always pay attention to the selection and retention of knife marks. Wood carving can only be adjusted and modified in a small range. Therefore, it is necessary to scrutinize and carefully arrange the lettering, and those who are not sure would rather not move. After trial printing adjustment, friction can be carried out. When rolling ink or coloring, it should be thin and uniform (the board will not paste without rolling evenly). Spread the paper flat on the plate and rub it evenly with wooden mushrooms, metal spoons or woodcut handles. Gently lift the local coloring or observation repeatedly until the picture is completely displayed on the paper. Pay attention to keep the blank space and the surrounding area clean to prevent damage caused by uneven stress or sundries. It is better to print woodcuts with uniform color saturation, clear image lines and flat and clean pictures. Color matching woodcut and watermark woodcut basically do this.
