"Lao Ba Pan" pays attention to the order of serving. Serve tea before you sit down. According to economic conditions, tea includes boiled tea or covered tea, candy (sugar, red dates, peanuts, melon seeds) and hand dish (for holding personal oil and vinegar); After sitting down, serve the whole plate with oil vinegar (a mixture of vinegar and cooked vegetable oil, usually placed in a large bowl with coriander on it, and served separately by the attendees). The whole dish is the most important dish of Lao Ba Cai and the only cold dish. In the middle of a big plate about a foot, there are cooked spinach, shredded pork, cooked bean sprouts, vermicelli and so on. Large pieces of meat and beef that are placed and then cut into two fingers are neatly placed on it. Finally, put a boiled egg cut into four pieces on top of the dish. This cold dish platter is called "whole dish". Eat a good whole meal from beginning to end, especially when the wine burns your ears. A cold dish and a glass of highland barley wine are delicious in the world. It is worth noting that the funeral is not allowed to go to the front, and only the mother is allowed to care for her family (family members comment on the life of the deceased and comment on the right and wrong of future generations, which is called "family talk" in some places).

Generally, the first hot dish is hot and sour tenderloin, and the second is "Qinghai Sanshaoer", which consists of fried potato chips, fried tofu, mutton tendon, meatballs and braised pork slices. At this time, you must serve a dish of vegetable buns at the same time, which are filled with gourds or broken vegetables. The third and fourth lanes are elbow and paste mutton (or lamb ribs) respectively. The fifth course is sugar packets, which contain brown sugar, flour, raisins and sesame seeds. The sixth course is mashed potato soup, the seventh course is braised beef or stewed beef, and the eighth course is seasonal dishes such as fried pork slices with mushrooms. At this point, Lao Ba's dishes are served together, indicating that the guests can leave after the banquet, and the host will turn over the table to entertain the next wave of guests. Some families with better economic conditions will eventually serve the last four bowls or earthen hotpot, but often the guests have already left by this time. So Qinghai people will say when mocking a person's procrastination: haven't you finished the last four bowls?
