Can Geiger-Miller counter distinguish the electricity of rays?
Gas ionization detector. It was invented by H. Geiger and P. Miller in 1928. Similar to a proportional counter, but with higher voltage. Charged particles are injected into gas, and in the process of ion proliferation, the excited atoms are de-excited and emit ultraviolet photons. These photons are emitted to the cathode to generate photoelectrons, which drift to the anode to cause ion diffusion, thus forming self-excited discharge in the tube. In order to make it count, the counter is filled with organic gas or halogen vapor, which can absorb photons and play a quenching role. Geiger-Miller counter has the advantages of high sensitivity and large pulse amplitude, but it can't count quickly.
As for electricity, it should be confused.
