How to measure spring flow in field hydrogeological investigation.
The buoy method is mainly used. The specific method is similar to the flow measurement method of hydrological station. But it's simpler and doesn't even need a theodolite for observation.
The specific method is to put a buoy in the spring (using local materials in the field, using grass sticks or something), set the position of the dropping point, select a point downstream of the spring, and measure the distance between the two points. Put the buoy or straw into the spring water, the time and distance from point A to point B are known, and the flow rate is known.
Then take the average of the width and depth in the spring water and calculate the average cross-sectional area. Do you know how much water flows between two sections during the buoy's time from point A to point B? The instantaneous flow is divided by time.
