Cantonese opera, also known as Guangdong Banghuang, is influenced by northern operas (such as Bangzi Opera and Huanger Opera) and has both Qupai style and Banqiang style. Gaohu, Yangqin, Qin Yue, Erxian, Coconut Tree and Qin Qin are the accompaniment instruments of Wenchang, among which Gao Hu, Erxian, Coconut Tree and Qin Qin are the characteristic instruments of Cantonese opera. After the 20th century, the percussion music in Wuchang absorbed some gongs and drums of Beijing Opera.
