What is the geographical significance of Taihang Mountain?

Taihang Mountain is the dividing line between Shandong and Shanxi. It is the dividing line between the North China Plain and the Loess Plateau. Prevent the southeast monsoon from going deep into the northwest inland, resulting in more precipitation in the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain than in the west; Prevent the northwest monsoon from moving eastward and weaken the influence of the cold wave on the North China Plain.

Taihang Mountain, also known as Wuxing Mountain, Wangmushan Mountain and Nuwa Mountain, is an important mountain range and geographical dividing line in eastern China. Located between Shanxi Province and North China Plain, it spans Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi and Henan provinces and cities. It stretches for more than 400 kilometers from Xishan in Beijing in the north to Wuwang at the junction of Henan and Shaanxi in the south, Shanxi Plateau in the west and North China Plain in the east. It is the eastern edge of the second step of China's topography and the eastern boundary of the Loess Plateau.
