Traditional Culture Encyclopedia - Traditional customs - Advantages of EDM
Advantages of EDM
1.** High precision and complex shape processing:** EDM can realize high-precision parts processing, suitable for complex concave-convex surfaces, small holes, precision structures, etc., tasks that are difficult to complete by traditional methods.
2.**Hard Material Machining:** EDM is suitable for machining hard materials, such as steel, iron, ceramics, etc., without causing excessive tool wear or damage.
3.**No mechanical contact:** EDM is non-contact machining, avoiding the problems of workpiece deformation and vibration that may result from traditional mechanical cutting.
4.**No limitation of workpiece hardness:** Unlike traditional mechanical machining, EDM is not limited by the hardness of the workpiece, and is suitable for various hardness materials.
5.**Fine Hole Processing:** EDM can be processed in tiny hole diameters, realizing high-precision micro-hole processing.
6.**No Cutting Pressure:** Since no cutting force is required, EDM avoids pressure deformation and stress accumulation on the workpiece.
7.**Excellent surface quality:** The surface quality after EDM is high, without cutting marks, burrs and other defects.
