Huizhou University is two books. Huizhou University has different enrollment batches in different provinces, including one batch of undergraduate students, two batches of undergraduate students and an ordinary class. According to its enrollment batches in the top few ordinary classes, it can be regarded as two colleges.

Huizhou University is a full-time public undergraduate university in Guangdong Province, a pilot university for the transformation of ordinary undergraduate courses, a provincial-level undergraduate university and a provincial master's degree awarding project construction unit, the second batch of provincial-level dual-innovation demonstration bases, and a national experimental area for teacher education innovation.

Huizhou University is located in Huizhou, a national civilized city, a national historical and cultural city and an important node city in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is a provincial-level full-time public undergraduate university, a pilot university for the transformation of ordinary undergraduate universities, a provincial-level undergraduate university and a provincial-level master's degree awarding project construction unit, the second batch of dual-innovation demonstration bases in the province, a project college for creating a national teacher education innovation experimental zone in the province, the third batch of Chinese excellent traditional culture inheritance bases in the province, and a pilot unit for the construction of the provincial "three-wheel education" system and mechanism.

The school, formerly known as Huizhou Normal School in Guangdong Province, was founded in 1946. 1978 was upgraded to Huiyang Teachers College, and in 2000 it was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate college. Since its founding 75 years ago, it has been adhering to the school motto of "emphasizing characteristics, seeking truth and being pragmatic", striving to build a high-level application-oriented university with distinctive characteristics of science and engineering and coordinated development of teacher education, and cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents with scientific spirit, humanistic accomplishment, international vision and innovative thinking, thus becoming an important "cradle" of talents in Dongjiang River Basin.
