The kite was invented by ancient Chinese laborers during the Spring and Autumn Period of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, more than 2,000 years ago. According to legend, Mo Zhai made a wooden bird from wood and developed it for three years, which is the earliest origin of kites for human beings. Later, Lu Ban used bamboo to improve the material of Mo Zhai's kite, and it was not until the Eastern Han Dynasty that Cai Lun improved the papermaking technique that people started to use paper to make kites, which is called "paper kite".
