Traditional Festivals of Folk Songs

Many ethnic groups in China have their own traditional singing festivals, such as the Song Market of the Zhuang, the Yufang of the Miao, the Mulao, and the Flower Festival of the Tu, Hui, Sala, Dongxiang, Baoan, and Han ethnic groups in the Northwest China. On the day of the festival, hundreds of young men and women gather at the special outdoor singing field to play and sing songs, on the one hand, to show their talents, and on the other hand, to look for a compatible partner of the opposite sex in the singing activities.
