Nowadays, every family in Liye Village grows lotus flowers as a pillar of local economic development, forming a spectacular "Ten Mile Lotus" landscape, which makes Liye Village the most famous lotus-viewing spot in Zhejiang Province after the "Qu Yuan Feng Lotus" in Hangzhou's West Lake.

On December 9, 2016, Liye Village was listed in the fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages.

Liye Village in Daci Yan Township has a history of growing lotus seeds for nearly 1,000 years. It has been recorded in poems of the Southern Song Dynasty, and was designated as a tribute during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, making it a renowned lotus township near and far.
