Spring Festival couplets are on the right and the bottom is on the left. Can we understand that right is up? , the left is the bottom. Spring Festival is the biggest festival in China, and every household has the custom of posting Spring Festival couplets. Spring Festival couplets, also known as "spring stickers", "door pairs" and "couplets", are one of the red festive elements "Year Red" posted during the New Year. It depicts beautiful images and expresses good wishes with neat, concise and exquisite words, which is a unique literary form in China.

There are four ways to distinguish the upper and lower couplets of Spring Festival couplets: one is to divide them equally by tone. Spring Festival couplets pay more attention to leveling. The last word of the first couplet is flat, and the last word of the second couplet should be flat. For example, "Qian Shan laughs at spring" ("laughter" is a derogatory term) and "happiness is enjoyed by everyone in the world" ("happiness" is a flat voice). The second is based on causality. "Cause" is the upper part and "effect" is the lower part. For example, "urban and rural wealth is in the right direction, policy is wise, and food and clothing are plentiful", because only the "cause" of "urban and rural wealth" will have the "fruit" of "food and clothing".

The third is divided by time. Time is the first part and time is the second part. For example, "the wind sends Ying Ge to bid farewell to the old year, and the snow companions welcome Mei to welcome the new year", and "bid farewell to the old year" comes first and "welcome the new year" comes last. The fourth is divided by spatial scope. Generally speaking, the small one comes first and the big one comes last. For example, "managing the family diligently, uniting and building the country, making the country prosperous and the people safe." In this pair of Spring Festival couplets, "country" is bigger than "home", so "home" comes first and "country" comes last.

Every Spring Festival, no matter in urban or rural areas, every household should take off beautiful red couplets and stick them on the doors to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, thus increasing the festive atmosphere. Another source of Spring Festival couplets is spring stickers. The ancients posted the word "Yichun" more and more at the beginning of spring, and then it gradually developed into Spring Festival couplets, expressing the good wishes of the working people in China to ward off evil spirits and avoid disasters and welcome good luck. It is said that this custom originated in the Song Dynasty and became popular in the Ming Dynasty.
