What is the current retirement age in China

1. Men who have reached the age of sixty and women who have reached the age of fifty and have accumulated ten years of service.

2. Men who have reached the age of fifty-five and women who have reached the age of forty-five, and have accumulated ten years of service, are engaged in underground, high-altitude, high-temperature, particularly heavy physical labor or other work harmful to health.

3. If a man reaches the age of fifty or a woman reaches the age of forty-five and has accumulated ten years of service, he shall be allowed to retire if he is certified by a hospital and confirmed by the Labor Appraisal Committee that he is totally incapacitated for work.

Statutory Retirement Age

Statutory Retirement Age refers to the Interim Measures of the State Council on the Settlement of Old, Weak, Sick and Disabled Cadres and the Interim Measures of the State Council on the Retirement and Retirement of Workers, which were approved in principle by the Second Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People's Congress on May 24, 1978, and are still in force.
