Architectural features in Northeast China 1
More details:
In fact, the most typical residential style in Northeast China is the adobe house facing north to south. Three independent houses are the most common, and two or five rooms are variants of three rooms. The most fundamental reason why the house faces south is the need for lighting and heating. This architectural style caused by the natural environment was finally interpreted as an ideological custom and even developed into a feudal rule with hierarchical nature. In people's minds, the north is the top, the south is the bottom, and even sitting in the southern part of the country has become a term for ruling the world.
In fact, the above are all rural areas, and there is no difference between cities and ordinary cities, except that the walls are thicker with heating or geothermal energy.
