What area is Chinese wrestling based on now?
Chinese wrestling is one of the oldest traditional sports in China. In ancient times, it was called wrestling, corner touch, sumo and wrestling. As early as 5,000 years ago, there were ancient wrestling activities in the era of the Yellow Emperor. In 1950s, China sports workers took thousands of years' wrestling practice in China as the background, based on the wrestling techniques in Beijing and Tianjin, and referring to the rules of modern sports competitions, they integrated multi-ethnic wrestling methods and named it "Chinese wrestling" to distinguish it from other kinds of wrestling in the world.
Compared with other wrestling, the similarity between Chinese wrestling and judo lies in the wrestling method. Although the names are different, the methods are the same. The most obvious difference between the two is that Chinese wrestling will lose except landing on both feet, but judo is not like this. It has the skills of sleeping and falling to the ground. In addition, judo also has anti-joint techniques, which are generally not available in Chinese wrestling.
