In teaching, should we focus on teaching or learning?

At present, there are two teaching modes: student-centered and teacher-centered. Network teaching advocates taking students as the main body and adapting to students' autonomous learning.

1, teacher-led teaching mode

In China, the current teaching mode is basically based on teachers. The advantages of this model are that it is conducive to teachers' leading role, teachers' organization and monitoring of the whole teaching process, emotional communication between teachers and students, systematic teaching of scientific knowledge, and giving full play to the important role of emotional factors in the learning process. Its disadvantages are: teachers completely dominate the classroom, ignoring students' cognitive role, emphasizing that students' main task in the learning process is to digest and understand the contents taught by teachers, treating students as the objects of indoctrination, the recipients of external stimuli, the memories of predecessors' knowledge and experience, and forgetting that students are living people with subjective initiative and creative thinking. Under this educational model, most students gradually develop the habit of not asking questions, not wanting to ask "why" and not knowing why, which binds and imprisons students' divergent thinking and reverse thinking.

2. Student-centered teaching mode

With the increasing popularity of multimedia and network technology, the student-centered teaching mode has gradually developed. At present, the rich information resources on the Internet have become the motivation and source to attract students to actively study. The "student-oriented" teaching mode is conducive to students' active exploration and discovery, and to the cultivation of creative talents, because students are the main body of the cognitive process, which is its outstanding advantage. However, this teaching mode often ignores the leading role of teachers and the important role of emotional communication between teachers and students and emotional factors in the learning process because it emphasizes students' "learning". When the degree of freedom of students' autonomous learning is too large, it is easy to deviate from the requirements of teaching objectives, which is its deficiency.

Obviously, it is not advisable to use the former to deny or replace the latter, or to use the latter to deny or replace the former. Instead, we should learn from each other and learn from each other. It is necessary to play the leading role of teachers and fully reflect the cognitive role of students. We should attach importance to both teachers' teaching and students' learning, and mobilize the initiative and enthusiasm of both teachers and students. Only in this way can we cultivate new cross-century talents with high innovation ability.
