The Traditional Five Emperors in China

The legend of "Three Emperors and Five Emperors" has been circulated in China since ancient times. But many people don't know which is "Huang San" and "Five Emperors". There are different opinions about the Three Emperors and Five Emperors, and there is no unified conclusion so far.

First, "Huang San" refers to: Emperor, Yellow Emperor and Ren Huang. Five Emperors: Taihao Fuxi in the east, Shennong in Yan Di in the south, Tianjintian in Shao Hao in the west, Levin in Zhuan Xu in the north and Xuanyuan in the Yellow Emperor.

Secondly, "Huang San" refers to Suirenshi, Fuxi and Shennong. Five Emperors: Huangdi, Zhuan Xu, Di Ku, Yao and Shun.

Third, "Huang San" refers to Fuxi, Shennong and * * * workers. Five Emperors: Shao Hao, Zhuan Xu, Di Ku, Yao and Shun.

"Three Emperors and Five Emperors" is not only a microcosm of ancient tribal society, but also an important title. In ancient primitive society, because there was basically no production technology and hunting technology, female characters were born with meticulous observation and played a very important role in gathering activities. Therefore, in primitive society, women were the head of the family, and the society at that time was also called "matriarchal society".

After entering the civilized era, with the development of hunting technology and the emergence of early farming, the matriarchal society began to change to the paternal society, and the "three emperors and five emperors" at this time was an important proof of this changing period. In the face of powerful nature, fragile tribes need a powerful role as support, and the development of tribes also needs a visionary leader to carry out some external expansion. Therefore, under the background of this era, male roles are obviously more suitable. At this time, the Three Emperors and Five Emperors became honorifics for heroes who led their own people to become strong.

We generally believe that China really entered a multi-ethnic country after Qin unified the six countries. Especially in the glorious and prosperous Tang Empire, the rulers of the Tang Dynasty were honored as "Tiankhan" by many ethnic minorities and vassal states. In fact, if we carefully study the ancient honorific title of "Three Emperors and Five Emperors", we will find that the characteristics of China's unified multi-ethnic land have been revealed as early as ancient times, and "Three Emperors and Five Emperors" is also the product of multi-ethnic integration and development in ancient society.

As we said above, the so-called "Three Emperors and Five Emperors" are actually heroes in the tribe. In the early days of civilized society, due to the growth of population, some big tribes will inevitably expand their territory and realize the further development of the tribes. But in the process of external development, some conflicts and wars will inevitably break out. The victorious side will have more territory and population, while the defeated side will face genocide and merger.

It can be said that in this process, it is the integration of different tribes and the great integration between nations.

We can see that the ancestors of the Chinese nation, Huangdi and Yan Di, appear repeatedly in the different views of "Three Emperors and Five Emperors". In the history of ancient tribal society, there were several important battles, among which the battle of Zhuolu laid the basic pattern of the Chinese nation, and the Yellow Emperor and Yan Di jointly defeated the powerful Chiyou, so that the Yellow Emperor gained absolute sovereignty over the Central Plains. Finally, under the leadership of the Yellow Emperor, many different ethnic tribes, such as the Yan Di tribe and the Yellow Emperor tribe, began to gradually merge together.

In fact, in this vast land of China where we live, there have been many strange or strange interesting stories: Pangu, the god of creation, created the world, the majestic Kyushu emerged from chaos, and Nuwa became an adult. Since then, the quiet Kyushu has been rejuvenated, the tall Kuafu is chasing the scorching sun, and the land of Kyushu is always longing for the light. ..............
