It is a coincidence that the trip finally ended at the Marriott Grand Castle Hotel in Las Vegas. Travel has been frightened by the high housing prices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and I don't think it is expensive to face 500 dollars a night (3-bedroom suite). Considering the last stop of the trip, I booked a room long in advance because of the Marriott brand and the excellent location adjacent to Las Vegas Avenue, even if the refund could not be cancelled at all. The story begins with a $25 voucher given at check-in.

The receptionist told me that this coupon can be used to deduct the money for shopping in the hotel cafeteria, but it must be activated at the designated service counter first, and repeatedly stressed that it must be activated within 24 hours of check-in, otherwise it will be invalid. When I went out and turned back to my room, I was surprised to find that there was a message on the phone in my room. Its content, the above rules for the use of vouchers are repeated again. So sincere, it seems that there are free pies in the sky. Isn't there a bonus for my gold card members?

Before going out to play the next day, come to the so-called counter 10 minutes in advance to activate the voucher. After filling out a questionnaire about family information and income, I asked a core question, "Does your wife speak English?" Because I have been communicating with me in English at that time, I guess I can say it by default. At this time, I was very nervous about the arrival time of booking a car, but I listened to her patiently. When I suggested that it was still too expensive, I planned to cut my travel expenses in the future. The senior manager came unexpectedly, but to my surprise, after I showed my firm position, the senior manager only asked one sentence: "No matter how much the price drops today, won't you buy it?" . After I said "yes" firmly, I signed some papers and left.

After that, I naturally thanked the consultant who received us patiently, but he didn't seem to have much nostalgia for us. He just hopes that we can give favorable comments in the following questionnaire survey. Naturally, I can't refuse such a simple request.

However, in fact, this final questionnaire survey is not that simple. The person in charge of the questionnaire survey is another lady. What concerns her most is why we refuse. Of course, I said it was a personal and family choice, not that the consultant was not clear enough. After completing the simple grading, she took out a piece of plastic A4 paper with the names of 20 major cities in the United States written on it. Then he asked us whether we would like to travel to the above cities in the next two years. We say "maybe" and "well, something good is coming. As long as you pay $995, you can stay at the resort hotel in the above cities for 5 nights at any time in the next two years and give an additional 50,000 Hao points (this is to show that I am a loyal fan of Marriott). " In fact, considering the high housing prices in Manhattan, I hesitated. However, it is not a small sum when converted into 995 dollars. Fortunately, poverty keeps me sane. After refusing again, the lady gave me a receipt for 30,000 Marriott points, thanking me for my time. Back and forth, a total of less than 2 hours.

The reason why I used such a seemingly shocking title was not that I wanted to sensationalize and scare people, but that a group of old Americans held up the slogan "Timeshare Nightmare" across the street when I just walked out of the hotel lobby that day. After watching some protest videos about this high-pressure sales model, I have to say that my experience is still very enjoyable. First, I didn't work overtime for too long, and second, I didn't buy and sell hard. Please forgive me for translating the consultant's introduction in the tone of a domestic real estate agent. In fact, English words sound good, although they are almost the same in essence. As for this kind of timeshare, there are really different opinions about whether the deal of the holiday club is worth it. To borrow the phrase "financial freedom means that you can do whatever you want", if you don't stay after joining the plan and won't feel bad, then there is absolutely no problem. Some people even think that it is not worthwhile for me to spend this little time in exchange for a little hotel points.
